Laundry day.

Was so hot today the Cossin Bros. thought why not go to a humid laundromat and sweat some more.  Did a little sketching of some girls from Megaplex  (TM)  and me sketching them, and all that  sweating .  Got my scanner working again so I will finally be updating my Megaplex comic on the Sodapop Mag page ,sorry for keeping you in the dark about that. But really grateful to see the awesome comix pouring out of Joel's brush.  See you Wednesday.

Laundry Day Sunday sketch- Master Blaster

A lot of people in the fandom world of cinema ,if asked what was the best trilogy series of all time might answer Star Wars or The Lord of the Rings.  For me it has always been Mad Max.  And despite the ability to quote many of the lines from Beyond the Thunder Dome many of those in the fandom community ,continue to show little appreciation  how perfect a book end to the Mad Max series "ThunderDome", really is.

So in honor of the last true Mad Max film, my laundry day sketch today is of Master Blaster.
Enjoy , Mikey>( ^ - ^ )<

90's tough:Law Dog

Nobody does tough in comics like Chuck Dixon!    It was with this thought in mind that I began scanning the back issue bins for old Dixon comics having finished reading the latest Winter World.

I came across a single copy of Law Dog#1 and felt the nostalgia for those old embossed covers and flipped inside to see Chuck's name inside!

If ever there were a Seal of Manliness in the world of comic books with, spandex and speedlines , Chuck Dixon's name would be that seal.

So I make my purchases and head back home.

From the first to the last page, I am hooked!  Of course I gotta' find more so I hop in my car and head to the next comic shop to find the other 9 issues of the series and do a little marathon reading.

As each issue progresses we get a little time capsule look into what it must have been like for the creators Chuck Dixon and Flint Henry as they worked on the series and even an awesome, surprise art appearance by Marc Hansen, creator of Ralph Snart!

By the time I finished my 10 issue read I was kicking myself for missing out on the series original release.

And I was wondering if all these years later, whatever became of the amazing artist, Flint Henry?!!! And could, Chuck Dixon be talked into a spinoff following, Lina?!!!

So here is a little sketchbook fan art that I colored up for your enjoyment.

Diner sketches

Playing around with cheap color pencils At diner.

In the girl drawing I found I didnt' like the spike mop from the night before so I went over it again during breakfast.

Originally I just drew the cat girl with attitude. But a friend requested she be responding to someone.
until next time...

Facebook tagging going around.

So on Facebook there is this game of artist tag going around where you post 1 to 3 art pieces for 5 days and each day you nominate some poor sucker to do likewise.

During my Sunday nap  I received an alert of my nomination, as if I was busy enough!.
